Just got the Phoenix Plus 2 which is great and includes a 2 year subscription for less than the subscription updates for two years would cost. It would make more sense to purchase a new tool every two years, it less expensive and you get the latest tool. Otherwise, the tool is great.

Purchased the Phoenix Plus 2 recently and think it's a well made and supported tablet. My only 'concern' is the very high cost of the SW updates. For my occasional DIY use it makes more sense to purchase a new device (from Topdon or competitor) after 2 years than to pay more than half the cost for only one year of SW updates. At the VERY least this price should be for a 2 year update. Even then it's a toss up whether it would be worth it vs buying a new device.
