TOPDON Phoenix Series Secure Gateway Tutorial 2025

Secure Gateways have been introduced by automakers to help in the fight against cyber-attacks and other security vulnerabilities on modern internet-enabled vehicles. AutoAuth is the primary service that allows independent shops to link their aftermarket scan tools to vehicles with Secure Gateways.

“AutoAuth is a service that gives technicians the ability to use their aftermarket diagnostic tools to perform secured functions on vehicles through the OBD port that would otherwise be locked by the Auto OEM,” AutoAuth states on its website. “AutoAuth works with independent tool vendors to ensure tools are AutoAuth certified. This allows independent operators to continue to service Security Gateway enabled vehicles.”

Haakan Light, U.S. Training and Development Manager for TOPDON US, addresses the steps that need to be taken to log in to a vehicle using a Phoenix series scan tool and the AutoAuth service in the video AutoAuth Login Guide for Stellantis | TOPDON Phoenix Series Secure Gateway Tutorial 2025 on TOPDON’s YouTube channel. Using screen shots from the Phoenix tool, Light goes step-by-step through the log-in procedure on a 2019 RAM ProMaster City. Light offers tech tips for common questions, and highlights the key prerequisites for Secure Gateway access, including:

·       All current updates to your scan tool

·       A subscription to AutoAuth

·       A current subscription to the manufacturer within AutoAuth

·       A strong internet connection

Follow along with Light as he simplifies the AutoAuth log-in process and reveals potential pitfalls. Vehicles with Secure Gateway technology will only increase in the coming years, so watch this video and stay a step ahead.
